Dharmata of Olympia is very happy to present a weekend retreat with Anam Thubten The focus of the retreat is to unburden ourselves from mental habits that cause unnecessary suffering and to realize our natural state which is the inner dimension of peace, joy, and love. Anam Thubten invites everyone to experience this spiritual transformation through meditation practice and the timeless teachings of the Buddha. For more information about the retreat, or to register contact: Kathleen Bonneau Singing Medicine with Robin Landsong and John Utter on Jan 20th and February 17th in the Heart Room 6:30-9. $8 to $15 for adults, kids are free We welcome you to join us in this rich weaving of masculine and feminine songs from Source as they come through John and Robin to you. John will add rhythm with hand drumming. We start with a simple grounding exercise to help people settle in. Next Robin goes around the circle with John in the center with his drum singing to each person what is medicine for them in that moment. This is an experience of being deeply witnessed with compassion and sound. People have reported that they feel seen, nurtured, awakened, enlivened, profoundly moved, and have renewed creativity for their purpose. Some have strong insights, to the point that being sung to becomes a starting point for a new way of living. We close with a group sounding that is always a unique combination of the magic of each person in the room woven together to remind us of our connection to the web of life.
This is fun, moving, and we would love for you to join us! Bring friends! Families with children are welcome. We will sing to families first since kids may not be able to last for the whole time. We simply ask kids are mellow enough to not make it difficult for John and Robin to focus (like running around the room). We have had children fall sound asleep in the circle and wake up only after we finished singing to them!

Sufi Zikr and DanceZikr means remembrance. As a Sufi meditative and devotional practice, it is done in a variety of ways. Our way will use simple dance movements and music which we make ourselves (drum, guitar, flute or viola, voices). All elements will be taught, so everyone can move and chant together in the circle.
There is a polish for everything that takes away
rust; and the polish for the heart is the
remembrance of Allah, Unity.
